Product Range Overview
The FarSync X.25 range of adapters have been developed to provide very high performance X.25 connectivity for Linux, Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, Server 2012 and Server 2008.
The competitively priced 1, 2 and 4 port Universal PCI and 2 and 4 port PCI Express adapters in the range are capable of driving each line at speeds of over 2,048 Mbits/s with support for E1, RS232, X.21, V.35, RS449, RS530 and RS422 network interfaces.
The USB adapter can support 1 port up to 2,048 Mbits/s with network interfaces RS232, X.21, V.35, RS449, RS530 and RS422 and is line powered.
The PMC adapters can support 2 ports and are capable of driving each line at speeds of over 2,048 Mbits/s with support for RS232, X.21, V.35, RS449, RS530 and RS422 network interfaces.
The X.25 software has a host of features including IP over X.25, a Sockets API, a Java API and an API to HDLC. A comprehensive development toolkit that includes many sample applications for each API is supplied as part of the product. Using the High Capacity Pack up to 4095 connections can be supported on each line. For Linux there is an option of XOT support.
A fully featured GUI multi-port Line Monitor and a Line Statistics application is included with the products.

Example Applications
The FarSync product range is suitable for connection to all types of X.25 network, including access via the ISDN D channel, Dialup X.25 and leased lines. Many many thousands of FarSync X.25 adapters are in use today all over the world in a wide variety of applications including:

Application Development
Application developers have a choice of APIs. An API selector guide is provided assist the developer in choosing the most appropriate interface. The Developers Toolkit is included with the product, it contains sample applications and full documentation to fast track your development process. Free email and telephone support is provided to application developers using the APIs.
Sockets API – X.25, XOT and ISO Transport – available on: Linux and Windows
The Sockets API is extremely popular as a simple, powerful, easy to use API to access TCP/IP communications networks. The Sockets support for the FarSync X.25 and XOT products retains this ease of use and also allows the special features of X.25 and ISO Transport classes 0 to 3 to be accessed. Documentation and a wide variety of sample applications are provided. Applications using the .NET framework can use the Sockets interface. Further details on the Sockets API
Java API – X.25 and XOT – available on: Linux and Windows
The Java API allows applications written in Core Java Software (J2SE) and Enterprise Java Software (J2EE) easy access to the functions and features of X.25 and XOT offered by the FarSync X.25 adapters. Full documentation and sample applications are provided.
HDLC API – LAPB – available on: Windows
Easy to use API to access Lapb layer 2 (HDLC). This interface allows X.25 layer 3 to be completely bypassed. An example application in C is provided.
NCB API – available on: Linux and Windows
A legacy API for the FarSync X.25 products providing compatibility with older version of the products only.
FarSync XOT Extension and XOT Runtime
The XOT extension allows applications using the same API to transmit data over XOT (X.25 over TCP/IP). TCP/IP is normally routed over Ethernet on PCs and Servers. The XOT support is compatible with FarSite’s FarLinX X25 Gateways and also other manufactures XOT products. The XOT and X.25 interfaces can be used simultaneously.
The FarSync XOT Extension for Linux is available under product code FS9508, it should be ordered at the same time that the FarSync X25 adapter is purchased, although a retrofit is possible.
The FarSync XOT Runtime for Windows is available under product code FS9511.
FarSync XOT Runtime software for Linux is also available that allows XOT to run over the PCs standard TCP/IP connection.
TCP/IP over X.25
The IP over X25 support supplied on the CD-ROM as part of the standard product enables Linux and Windows PCs to run the IP protocol over an X.25 network.
